Some Press about NFT
"...for people who dont want to be seen carrying a guidebook." -The New Yorker
NYT: "...the guide highlights neighborhood amenities like bicycle repair shops and community gardens."
LA Times: "The Top Picks are invaluable...the NFT guide is both snarky/fun and inviting...a welcome alternative to the $9.99 (and up) iPhone app price tags on other city guides."
ZDNet: "A good investment if you don’t want to be "That Guy" opening a huge map in the middle of Times Square."
Jaunted: "Youll be instantly comfortable navigating the app by fingertip; its almost as if the books were designed based on the app and not the other way around."
We are constantly working on new features and listings, so stay tuned.
Enjoy, Love, NFT.
Pros and cons of NFT Guides, All Cities app for iPhone and iPad
NFT Guides, All Cities app good for
love the book, love the app. Three features I would like to see:
1. order bookmarks by categories
2. add your own places
3. add notes to places
Was a Great help. I used the app more than my Time Out Print edition. The recommanded Restaurants and bars were cool and I loved the "close by"-Button for searching things. It really worked well.
Though many of the descriptions are short, it gives a really good impression of what to expect. It worked especially well with cafes. Sometimes a bit cynical, but always reliable. Much better than the print edition, as its a lot more easy to use when travelling. It makes perfect use of the iPhone possibilities. The Frommer app is a close second, though considerably less hip. Dont even think about buying the dreadful Lonely Planet app.
Perfect integration of information and platform. This is a program that makes me glad I shelled out the money for a touch.
I use this app when Im in Manhattan visiting family. Its easy to use and it has a lot of options: places to go, where to eat. Perfect if youre on the go.
I just spent 3 weeks in Manhattan and even though I was a tourist I didnt look like one! Having my guide book on my iPhone was so wonderful!! I had loads of fun following the books random suggestions!! I found different things to do....in short I loved it! Buy it, its great!!
Some bad moments
Little detail behind listings (times, price ranges); grocery stores and fast food missing (or I couldnt find them); maps dont zoom. Some good info but not nearly enough for $4.99. Ill try in NYC this week and update if Im wrong.
I got this app cuz it was great on my gfs phone 2 yrs ago. But this version is super glitchy! Every time I check out a page and go back to the main menu, half of the the menu face is out of view... Ya cant drag it in or anything. Its crrrrrap I tell ya!
I regularly purchased the old NFT city apps and loved them because they didnt require data/wifi to provide most of the info. Slick new design, but almost useless without data - something not all travelers have when out of country. Transit maps are another key feature that would really make this worth it. Please keep working on it - I love NFT!
This App used to be good but now is useless as map does not work at all. I wonder if the programmer no longer care about this App as there has been no update for more than 2 years, which is definitely necessary for this App.
It said all cities. I clicked on one attraction in London and it will not let me see any others . 7.99 and all I can read about is Fulham palace? I repeat do not buy
Revised October 14.
Maps are subpar and buggy. Subway stops are listed but no subway map. I tried browsing outside NYC - search was buggy also. Not worth $5 - shows potential but developer needs to come up to acceptable standards - these are nice guides in print.
